Derbyshire rehabilitation services' awards success!
19th Mar
We are delighted to announce that Voyage Care's services Markham House and 100 Glasshouse Hill were together winners of the brain injury rehabilitation category at the prestigious Laing and Buisson Independent Specialist Care Awards. The award was collected by service managers Chris Cooper and Rachel Smith at the glittering ceremony held in London on Thursday 15th March. It is fantastic to win any national award but this is extra special as we know we had strong competition from specialist providers with an international reputation.
The successful nomination described the four stage rehabilitation programme which the services use to support individuals to work towards a gradual move back to their family home, or to a new home. Staff offer consistent support and help individuals to set clear goals, and there are opportunities for people to move through a number of settings as they build their independence and confidence. The same team can provide continued support after the individual moves into their own home for as long as it is needed.
Chris and Rachel commented:
'We just wanted to express our sincerest congratulations to our teams on winning this award for excellence in supporting people with a brain injury. Once again the staff teams have proved themselves mindful of the need to compete with excellence. This award distinguishes our homes as ones with real commitment to supporting people in reaching there highest potential. We appreciate the opportunity of working alongside a staff team in a setting where people care about quality and commitment to the individuals that we support. They are all amazing at what they do and this makes our jobs easier! So our sincerest thanks to our supportive staff teams, without who all this would not have been possible.'
Congratulations to Chris, Rachel and the staff teams at 100 Glasshouse Hill and Markham House for receiving this recognition of the excellent work they do helping people to rebuild their lives.
